In 1985, having two children in their senior year of secondary school, I tried to find out how to help them in their transition to college. The aid that they received was not sufficient to make a sound decision in their academic future. Through these hard times, I decided to begin a second professional career in the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
In 1989, I chose to dedicate myself, full-time, to an independent practice of consulting for college admission and financial aid. I operated in Puerto Rico under the corporate name of “EDU-CASH, INC.” and from 2000 in Central Florida as “J.E. Cardona & Associates* “. My wife, C Vanessa Rodriguez, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), developed her private practice of Public Accounting and worked as a college professor in Puerto Rico and Florida. At present, she is a consultant at J.E. Cardona & Associates*.

As part of our work, we have visited hundreds of colleges and universities, in Puerto Rico and the United States. In these visits, we established personal contacts with key staff members in the offices of Admission, Athletic Department and of Financial Aid.
Here in Central Florida, I also am the Pastor of the Hispanic Baptist Church “Templo Biblico” in Winter Garden affiliated to the Southern Baptist Convention.
